Advion Expression CMS Organic Mass Spectrometry System

Product Details Ordering Information Download Materials Related video Application Cases

The expression® CMS integrates everything from automated sample injection via TLC thin-layer chromatography, to simple ASAP atmospheric-pressure direct-injection analysis and a variety of ion sources, to ultra-high-performance purification chromatography via HPLC and Flash/Prep preparative purification techniques—making it suitable for the entire chemist’s workflow. The expression® CMS offers commonly used sample preparation techniques available on the market, including:

Thin-layer chromatography-mass spectrometry interface

Plate Express™ TLC Reader

Plate Express™ offers a simple, automated method for directly acquiring samples from thin-layer chromatography plates, and when combined with the expression® CMS mass spectrometer, it gives rise to TLC/CMS technology. With this technology, chemists can rapidly and confidently identify products without the need for additional sample preparation—even when dealing with complex mixtures.

Obtain mass spectrometry information within 1 minute;
Avoid the risk of mass spectrometer overload—TLC spots contain an ideal sample volume suitable for mass spectrometric analysis.
Simple operation, software-controlled;
Simplifies the process of acquiring spectra—perfect for multi-user laboratories.

Atmospheric Pressure Direct Injection Analysis Probe ASAP®

The ASAP® atmospheric-pressure direct-injection analysis probe offers rapid, simple, and reliable mass analysis of solid and liquid samples without the need for sample preparation. Simply immerse the probe into a liquid or rub it against a solid sample, then directly insert it into the APCI ion source through the injection port—results can be obtained in just seconds. Suitable for:

√ Reaction Monitoring
√ Natural product
√ Compound identification
√ Food safety

Inertial Atmospheric Pressure Solid Analysis Probe iASAP

Inert ASAP (iASAP) is an improved version of ASAP technology that allows for easy sampling from reactions conducted in glove boxes or Schlenk lines, enabling the extraction of air-sensitive compounds—such as metal catalysts and organometallics—without exposing them to oxidation. The iASAP probe can provide:

Transfer air-sensitive samples to the test bench safely;
No sample oxidation;
Results in 30 seconds;
No sample preparation required.

Volatile Atmospheric Pressure Chemical Ionization source vAPCI

Volatile Atmospheric Pressure Chemical Ionization (vAPCI) combined with CMS enables rapid and simple measurement of gas samples, such as headspace and breath samples. vAPCI features a sample inlet connected via a heated transfer line to the APCI ion source, where the sample is ionized by corona discharge. vAPCI allows chemists to:

√ Directly analyze volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the gas phase;
√ Compared to traditional APCI ion sources, solvent-free APCI enables the ionization of a wider range of compounds.

Touch Express™ Open Sampling Interface OPSI

The open sampling port can be used in conjunction with CMS’s ESI ion source, and a solvent flows continuously at a low rate through this port. After the product comes into contact with the solvent at the sampling port, the venturi effect enables the solvent to directly carry the sample into the ESI ion source of the mass spectrometer. Any soluble sample that comes into contact with the sampling port can be analyzed by the mass spectrometer within just a few seconds. The Touch Express open sampling port provides a convenient analytical solution for solid samples, liquids, and even micro-area surface materials.
The Touch Express open sampling port is a unique technology that eliminates the need for sample pretreatment.
√ Can identify compounds and impurities on any surface;
√ Samples that can be directly processed after sample pretreatment and solid-phase extraction filtration;
√ Completed the test, which can be applied to fields such as drug research, food safety, environment, and forensic science;
It can be used for the detection of macromolecular substances, such as proteins, lipids, nucleotides, polymers, and more.
