Cleanert - SPE Sorbent
Cleanert® solid-phase extraction (SPE) sorbents include adsorptive sorbents, silica-based sorbents, and polymer-based sorbents.
Among them, silica or bonded silica is the conventional sorbent, prepared by attaching different functional groups to the silanol groups on the surface of silica. The usual pH range is 2.0–8.0. There are many types of bonded silica sorbents, which have the advantage of high selectivity.
Polymeric sorbents are made from polymers copolymerized from pyrrolidone and divinylbenzene. The introduction of the polar pyrrolidone functional groups gives them a balanced adsorption for both polar and non-polar compounds.
Compared with C18 columns, they have the following advantages:
- Works with pH 0-14, no need to strictly control the activation process, and drying the column doesn’t affect its use;
- Can simultaneously adsorb compounds of different polarities;
- No interference from silanol groups, which improves elution of compounds with basic groups and reduces low recovery issues. Suitable for sample prep in food, environmental, pharmaceutical, and other fields.
Adsorbent fillers include Florisil (magnesium silicate), PestiCarb (graphitized carbon), and alumina (neutral Alumina-N, acidic Alumina-A, alkaline Alumina-B), which can efficiently remove pigments, fats, and other interfering impurities from samples, meeting purification needs in various fields.
Cleanert SPE填料系列
Polymer matrix
- Cleanert PEP/PEP-2/PEP Plus:Pyrrolidone copolymer filler, fully resistant to pH 0~14, balances adsorption of both polar and non-polar compounds, avoids interference from silanol groups, and is suitable for testing drugs and pesticide or veterinary drug residues in biological samples.
- Ion exchange series (PAX/PCX/PWAX):Strong anion, strong cation, and weak anion exchange resins, mainly used for enriching and purifying acidic and basic compounds (like sulfonamides and dyes).
Silicone matrix
- Reversed-phase packing (C18/C8): end-capped / non-end-capped designs, hydrophilic series (AQ C18) suitable for water samples;
- Normal phase and adsorbent fillers: Florisil (magnesium silicate), PestiCarb (graphitized carbon), aluminum oxide (acidic/neutral/basic), efficiently remove pigments, fats, and other interfering substances.
Technical innovation advantage
- Complete range of categories: Offers over 39 types of stationary phase combinations, covering all kinds of extraction needs.
- Stable silica-based performance: Average particle size of 45–50 μm, pore size of 60 Å, surface area of 480 m²/g, uniform pore structure, ensuring high sample loading and reproducibility.
- Excellent acid and base resistance of polymer-based matrix: Stable across pH 1–14, avoiding the hydrolysis risk of silica in strong acids or bases, ideal for complex systems like biological samples.
- Versatile mixed-mode extraction: The core PEP series stationary phases combine reversed-phase adsorption with weak ion exchange, allowing simultaneous extraction of polar and non-polar compounds and boosting multi-target analysis efficiency.
Full coverage of application scenarios
- Pharmaceuticals and bioanalysis: Polymer matrices are suitable for extracting drugs and metabolites from plasma; silica matrices are used for extracting regular polar compounds.
- Food Safety Testing: Florisil can effectively clean pesticide residues from vegetables; graphitized carbon can remove pigment interference from samples; amino stationary phases are suitable for separating sugars.
- Environmental monitoring: Strong cation exchange can be used to detect malachite green in seafood, and alumina can efficiently treat hydrocarbon pollutants in water.
Agela Cleanert SPE cartridge series is centered on a dual-substrate combination, providing high-recovery, highly reproducible sample prep solutions for the pharmaceutical, food, and environmental fields, helping labs work more efficiently!
