Easy to operate
With the Sepiatec preparative supercritical fluid chromatography instrument, BUCHI has greatly lowered the threshold for using SFC technology, offering outstanding ease of instrument operation. The core advantages are as follows:
- Expert-Level Dedicated Operating System
The instrument is equipped with dedicated control software developed by SFC field experts. The menu structure is clear and easy to understand, with a simple and intuitive operation process. It supports practical functions such as layered sample injection, peak detection, and real-time parameter editing during operation. All operation settings are centrally displayed, eliminating the need for multiple screen switching. Paired with a 15.6-inch ergonomic front touch screen, data input is convenient and efficient, providing an even better user experience.
- Efficient Layered Sample Injection, Supports Large-Scale Preparation
The instrument supports isocratic layered sample injection mode, allowing continuous sample injection and making full use of the waiting time for peak elution, significantly improving the efficiency of large-volume sample processing; the accompanying control software can automatically recommend layering times, making the setup of layered injection methods simpler and faster, greatly reducing method development time.
- Intelligent and convenient, easy to install and use
The instrument has a simple overall setup that is easy to get started with, allowing operators to use it proficiently without long-term professional training; the instrument comes standard with an exhaust system interface, which is well-designed and can be placed directly on a laboratory workbench or in a fume hood, adapting to the needs of different laboratory scenarios.
Save space
Space is particularly precious for every laboratory. The Sepiatec preparative supercritical chromatography system has a compact structure, allowing efficient use of laboratory space while ensuring equipment performance and operational efficiency.
- Compact body, efficiently saving laboratory space
The full range of Sepiatec preparative supercritical chromatography instruments features a compact design. The system controller and fraction collector are integrated into a single built-in structure, requiring no additional surrounding space. They can be flexibly placed on a lab bench or in a fume hood, effectively saving valuable laboratory space and leaving more room for other equipment.
- Modular design, convenient and efficient for daily maintenance
The instrument adopts a modular structural design, allowing all key functional components to be accessed and operated directly from the front. During routine maintenance, there is no need to move or flip the instrument, making it easy to quickly replace spare parts and consumables, greatly simplifying the daily inspection and maintenance process and improving laboratory work efficiency.
- Highly integrated, fully equipped with complete functionality
The instrument achieves full-function high integration within a compact body, fully equipped with all the core components required for supercritical fluid chromatography experiments, with stable performance without compromise. The core configurations include: CO₂ high-pressure pump; modifier high-pressure pump; adjustable back pressure regulator; column oven; sample injection pump; gas-liquid separator; UV detector; fraction collector; integrated system controller with dedicated control software; 15.6" touchscreen.

High flexibility
The experimental needs of chemists vary depending on the application scenario. The Sepiatec preparative supercritical chromatography instrument combination is designed from multiple dimensions, including model, detection, and collection, providing rich flexibility for experiments and fully adapting to different experimental needs:
- Multiple models and specifications to meet the needs of different production scales
The Sepiatec preparative supercritical chromatography system offers multiple performance-level models to meet the separation and purification needs of samples ranging from milligrams to grams. The system is compatible with various specifications of HPLC columns and can support columns with inner diameters of 4–16 mm, 15–30 mm, 30–50 mm, and lengths of 150–800 mm; some models' column ovens can store up to 10 columns simultaneously, allowing flexible switching and coupling during experiments, meeting the requirements of different method screenings and scale-up preparations.
- Flexible detection and sampling modes, adaptable to various application scenarios
The instrument comes standard with a UV detector, which can monitor the compound separation process in real time to ensure precise collection of target components; it also supports external detectors such as an evaporative light scattering detector (ELSD) and mass spectrometer (MS), meeting the detection needs of different samples. The system supports two modes: multiple injections and stacked injections. Multiple injections can sequentially complete batch injections, while stacked injections are suitable for the efficient processing of large batches of samples under isocratic conditions.
- Atmospheric fraction collection, safe and convenient with no volume limit
The Sepiatec preparative supercritical chromatograph uses an atmospheric pressure fraction collection method, which significantly improves operational safety compared to pressurized collection, while also simplifying the post-processing workflow. There is no limit on the fraction collection volume, meeting the collection needs of samples of different scales, and it is more convenient and reliable for large-scale preparative scenarios such as stacked injections.
