DURAN ® TILT GL56 Breathable spiral cap
| DURAN ® TILT Laboratory bottles are ideal containers for sterilizing and storing culture media or buffer solutions. However, it is strongly recommended to loosely tighten the caps during autoclaving cycles. If steam can easily penetrate the contents of the bottle, the heating time will be reduced. A loosely tightened cap also helps minimize the risk of failure due to pressure buildup inside the bottle—pressure that can reach 400 kPa (Absolutely.) Furthermore, tightening the cap immediately after autoclaving will create a vacuum caused by the cooling of steam. This could lead to bottle failure, a particularly important consideration for larger bottles. To overcome these limitations, a sterile, breathable membrane screw cap has been developed. The screw cap can be tightly sealed, as the membrane allows for automatic, sterile gas exchange, ensuring safe pressure equalization during the autoclaving cycle while maintaining the sterility of the contents inside the bottle. — With 0.2 μm Aperture of the ePTFE Breathable membrane, resistant to 121℃ Steam sterilization 3-5 Next — Made from polypropylene and polytetrafluoroethylene. — Pressure equalization during steam sterilization — ePTFE The membrane’s microporous structure enables sterile gas exchange in both directions while preventing the penetration of liquids or solids, ensuring that the contents of the bottle remain sterile. — 0.2 μm of the ePTFE The thin film, combined with larger vents, enhances the gas exchange rate. — ePTFE The membrane and its polypropylene mesh scaffold are ultrasonically welded into place, creating a durable seal. — Cost-effective, as the lid can be reused multiple times (due to its durability; or if the membrane is damaged or contaminated, it is recommended to...). 3 To 5 Replace after the secondary high-pressure sterilizer cycle. — Polytetrafluoroethylene ( ePTFE ) Membrane (compliant) USP 121°C VI Grade), with polypropylene mesh |
