This time, our team is heading off to Xishuangbanna in Yunnan—a mysterious destination that everyone has long been longing to visit!

We’ve arrived at the first check-in spot. — The Chinese Academy of Sciences Botanical Garden is a comprehensive research institution and scenic area that integrates scientific research, species conservation, and public science education. Led by a local guide, you can experience the wonders of the rainforest, discover unique flora and fauna exclusive to tropical rainforests, and bask in the sunlight filtering through the jungle canopy—allowing your heart to reconnect with nature.

Xishuangbanna Primitive Forest Park seamlessly blends the unique natural beauty of pristine rainforests with enchanting ethnic customs. Here, we enjoy breathtaking Dai folk song and dance performances, marvel at the spectacular sight of hundreds of peacocks gracefully soaring through the air, cross the bustling Wish Bridge thronged with people, and then make our way to the Ai Ni village. There, we join the Ai Ni people in lively dances, reconnecting with nature—joy truly is that simple.

Xishuangbanna is “ Elephant ” As we head to the Wild Elephant Valley, we can immerse ourselves in the rainforest alongside Asian elephants, watch elephant performances, and enjoy close interactions with adorable baby elephants full of wild charm. We can also take a cable car ride high above the tropical rainforest, listening to the calls of our companions echoing through the valley. All our stress seems to fly away with those sounds, dissipating into the lush, layered forest.

As night falls and the first lights begin to glow, a cruise ship glides gently along the Lancang River. The lively atmosphere of the starlit night market starts to take shape. We weave through the bustling streets, immersed in the vibrant, richly Southeast Asian ambiance of the night. Savoring the distinctive flavors of the Dai ethnic group, we raise our glasses and chat freely about life—tonight, we vow not to leave until we’re thoroughly drunk.

When you come to Xishuangbanna, you simply must experience the grand spectacle of the Dai Water Splashing Festival firsthand. Dressed in traditional Dai attire and armed with basins of water, we stood in the sun-drenched Dai Garden’s water-splashing square, where songs mingled with laughter. As droplets of water—symbols of good fortune, happiness, and health—burst forth into the air, filling the atmosphere with joy and vitality.

On this trip to Xishuangbanna in Yunnan, we freely strolled amid lush green mountains and clear waters, admiring exotic flowers and rare plants in this beautiful, verdant land. We immersed ourselves in its pristine ecology and rich ethnic charm, strengthening the camaraderie among our colleagues.
